WENGER EYEING VELOSO

Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso is back on the agenda for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

The Daily Mail says Italian rivals Juventus ended their pursuit of the talented Portuguese midfielder last week.

Veloso is under consideration by the Gunners as a potential long-term replacement for Brazilian Gilberto Silva which is linked with Panathinaikos with an estimated £2m transfer bid.

Panathinaikos are offering Gilberto Silva £2m per year in a three year contract which is what the player has demanded. The third year will come into force if Gilberto plays in 50% of the games the year before.

The player’s agent Nicola Arkouri has indicated to the Greek press that his client will consider the offer seriously.

While at same time Alex Hleb has launched an amazing swipe at Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and teammate Cesc Fabregas.

Hleb says he has never agreed with Wenger over his role and brands Fabregas 'selfish'.

Hleb insisted: "My view of how I should be playing didn't coincide with the manager's.

"I told him last season I wanted to leave and think he was quite upset about it.

"But ask him. It may turn out he's happy to see me go.

"I don't know where I'll be next season but I'd prefer Barcelona.

"It is being negotiated and, hopefully, will be decided soon."

Arsenal are demanding £18million for the Belarussian, 27, who has two years left on his contract.

The midfielder knows he will not get a warm welcome from his team-mates at pre- season training this week, especially after his pop at Fabregas.

He told The Sun: "When we get scoring opportunities, Fabregas is much more selfish than me.

"Given a chance to shoot, he always goes for it - unlike me", said Hleb.

After Pires and Ljungberg left, Arsenal find a few goals made from midfields.

Arsenal won't go higher than £60,000-a-week as new contract talks continue with Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Sun says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is adamant he will not break the club's wage structure, nor will he drop his £38m asking price for the striker.

Adebayor, 24, hit 30 goals last season and now wants the same wages as Thierry Henry before his move to Barcelona.

But Wenger expects the Togo player to deliver trophies before he demands a six-figure weekly salary.

I'm exactly rated Eduardo Da Silva highly than Adebayor, so perhaps Wenger don't be afraid to sold Adebayor out for Barcelona. There is more than enough players as Adebayor quit from Arsenal, Eduardo Da Silva, Niklas Bendtner, Robin Van Persie, Theo Walcott, and the Arsenal wonderkid Carlos Vela. Hopes Wenger don't hang on Adebayor.
